Hi Friends! I’m Maggie!

Thanks for stopping by, I’m so happy you’re here! My name is Maggie Tisdale (Kapustka), I am originally from Grand Rapids Michigan and spent 25 years of my life there with no intention of ever leaving. That is until I started dating the love of my life my senior year in highschool, does this make us highschool sweethearts? He (Ryan) went off to the University of Michigan and was apart of the mens basketball program (yes, i’m a coaches wife!), and I stayed back and went to Grand Valley State University where I got my degree in secondary education with a major in English and minor in health. We decided to do long distance throughout our college careers, i took the 7 year plan route (lol) and my husband (then boyfriend) finished in 4 and went on to become a graduate assistant for the mens basketball program at Rice University in Houston, TX. Again, continuing to do long distance going from 2 hours away to 18!

Ryan proposed to me in 2018 when he was back in town to receive honors for his 2018 Big Ten Championship title as well as being runner up in the 2018 National championship game. As you can see there was a lot going on that weekend so I was in complete shock when he popped the question! We were set to get married after he finished his graduate assistant position and I graduated from GVSU in 2020. As we all know… life didnt go quite as planned for the world that year and so we postponed our wedding and were married in june of 2021! Leading up to our wedding ryan was offered the director of basketball operations position with Rice and since I had just graduated we decided it was best that I head down to Houston to start our journey together a year before our new wedding date!

Life in Houston!

In February of 2022 I found out I was pregnant with our baby girl, and in may of 2022 my husband was offered the director of basketball operations position at the University of Illinois at Chicago! We were so excited for the opportunity to move closer to home (only 3 hours away) especially with our anticipated bundle of joy arriving in November. We had to jump at the opportunity to be by family during such an exciting time in our lives! In June of 2022 we officially packed up and moved our growing family to Chicago where we currently reside and are just enjoying all that this wonderful city has to offer!

In November of 2022 during the thick of basketball season, we welcomed our baby girl, Kaia Grace, into this world and have never been happier! She has been such a joy and the perfect addition to our lives! Ever since having Kaia I feel like thats when my life truly began and each day with her and as a family life just continues to get better and better! I am forever grateful for this little life that my husband and I are creating together!

I wanted to explain our journey of how we got to where we are now because it will be forever changing and can be hard to keep up with at times, so don’t forget to check back as we never know where we’re going to go next! For now, Chicago is home and here is where I will be sharing with you about all things LIFE in my little corner of the internet! From recipes, toddler and baby outfit inspo, to my favorite content, Seasonal finds! All the things can be found here on my blog!
